This page contains links to files of various hymns in the hope they will prove useful to others.
The first table contains hymns from “Hymns Ancient & Modern New Standard”. There are two files for each hymn: a Microsoft Word file with the melody and the words set out as a poem, and a PDF file with the 4-part harmony and underlaid words. The intention is that the graphics and texts in the melody files can be cut and pasted into service papers for congregational use, whilst the harmony files can be printed out for choral use. Alternative tunes are provided as indicated in AMNS and as used at St. George's, Berlin. Please let me know if you find any errors or would like a file with the hymn to a different tune.
The second table contains hymns from “The Hymnal 1982”, in versions with U.S. and British spellings; in the latter case, words from Hymns Ancient and Modern New Standard are provided where these exist. Please let me know if you find any errors.
The third table contains hymns from other sources which have been used over the years, such as hymns from the New English Hymnal, or even the odd hymn in Igbo.
